"Find your why and you'll find your way." - John C. Maxwell
Your WHY is your north star. It keeps you moving forward when you are tired. I have several WHYs. I have learned that when things are difficult and I am questioning WHY did I want a 2nd Act or I am scared, frustrated, overwhelmed, etc., I realized I needed to have more than one WHY. As I continue this journey, I continue to collect WHYs. Below are the first three that got me going.
My 1st WHY is I want to be of service. I have always wanted support others. My first act didn't allow for that as much. Being able to help someone navigate the process of buying, selling or investing in real estate is a great way to serve. When you think of the largest purchase someone makes, the process can be overwhelming and complicated, at least it was for me. I want to be of service and help those who are as overwhelmed as I was.
My 2nd WHY is I wanted to be an entrepreneur. I have always wanted my own business and real estate has a relatively (upcoming posts will explain relatively more) short runway for establishing your business.
My 3rd WHY is I want my life to honor those who risked everything to create a better life for my community. I do not take it lightly that I can change careers, essentially no questions asked. My forefathers and foremothers were relegated to specific jobs and did not have the opportunities afforded to me. As an African American woman, I appreciate the sacrifices made and want to honor those who paved the way.
